Its wedding season, well its always wedding season. My childhood friend Ida got married. It was the most amazing experience. The Hausa Traditional wedding (Northern Nigerian) is so elaborate and there we're times i had tears in my eyes. There was a no camera policy at the wedding, which I thought odd, but I got it. There's no telling where the pictures might end up with social media these days.
I wore this outfit to the 'Post Wedding Dinner'. The Dress is Halston and i bought during the Sex and The City 2 Launch craze. I absolutely love it, its been hanging in my closet for so long, I was just excited that it fit. The shoes are Giuseppe Zanotti. I bought them for graduation, but ended up wearing something else, so they just been sitting in my closet. I love it when i have an occasion and I can wear stuff I already have in my closet. Although a shopping spree would have been nice!

Move over Olivia Palermo, there's a new fashion 'It Girl' in town. Former editor of Harper's Bazaar Russia  and all round Russian fashion darling, Mira Duma. She is one fifth of the Russian dolls Ulyana Sergeenko, Elena Perminova, Alexander Lebedev and Vika Gazinskaya.

Her style is completely in line with everything I believe in and if I had bags of money, I'd probably go out and buy everything she has ever worn.
She is currently the editor of fashion news website Buro 24/7 (if only I had paid attention in Russian class...gah!)

I walked into Topshop a few weeks ago, with absolutely no intention of buying anything. I was trying to kill time, while waiting for my friend and BOOM this skirt was the first thing I saw. Don't you hate when that happens? And don't you hate it more when its a perfect fit?

My new thing is to pair things that will not necessary go together. Like this over-sized 'LOVE' sweatshirt, also from Topshop and my new favorite skirt OR Velvet and Leather (idea for my next post?)

Speaking of LOVE....I'm completely in love with Lena Dunham and her HBO TV show GIRLS. I think she is the voice of 'my generation'. My favorite character at the moment is Shoshana. If you haven't seen it, check it out. It is truly funny and is a real representation of women everywhere.

Happy New Year....Happy Chinese New Year.

These images capture exactly how I feel in 2013.
2012 was such a weird year. I can't explain it. I expected so much from it and I sat and felt sorry for myself for the majority of it. 2013, I've decided to take life by the balls, metaphorically speaking. Work hard, Play hard and laugh harder, is my motto for this year. Because if 2012 taught me anything, its that life is very fleeting.

Franca Sozzani has done it again by putting Fei Fei Sun, the first Chinese model on the cover of Vogue Italia. I am truly excited, because I am a big believer in diversity. There is not one type of beauty and Sozzani can see that clearly. It also makes complete sense, as China is one of the biggest consumers of Luxury products.
Shot by Steven Meisel and styled by Lori Goldstein, Fei Fei channels the 60s supermodel China Machondo. The winged eyeliner (channelling Chanel Spring 2013) the retro beehive are giving me life right now.

Over the past years on EPF I've raved and ranted over my love for lipsticks. Especially the Make Up Forever Rouge Intense line.
I just did a 'spring clean' of my lipstick collection. (cleaned out lipsticks I've had for about a year) and this is what I'm left with. I just discovered Sleek and Revlon lipsticks. The are pretty inexpensive as just as good as the other high end brands.

My all time favorite lipstick, is the Cover Girl Classic Red in 580 (which has now been discontinued) I wear almost everyday and I'm on my 5th tube now.

Lipstick Tips
  • My friend Ameeka shared this with me. If I have a big night out, I usually ice my lips for 20 seconds before lightly applying some concealer and then my lip colour. Allows the colour to last longer.
  • For flake free-soft subtle lips, I use the Bliss Fabulips Sugar Lip Scrub followed by my favorite lip balm in the world Burt's Bee Beeswax Lip balm (I literally can not leave the house without it)
